Countryside Skills is a 12-Week structured programme to help young people aged 16-24 gain recognised qualifications to enable progression to apprenticeships or improved employment prospects working in rural countryside jobs.
If you are aged 16 to 24, and want to get the right skills for a career in Countryside work, then this could be an ideal programme. The Countryside Skills programme will support you to improve your quality of life, gain new skills and qualifications and enhance your opportunities to progress to an apprenticeship or find employment.
Course members will:
- Gain qualifications in an accredited LANTRA Level 2 Certificate in Land-based Activities, Health and Safety, and First Aid.
- Skill Build: developing practical skills such as: Conservation and Using tools in an outdoor setting.
- Focus on employment: Career planning, volunteering and team work.
- Site management & field survey experience with North East Wales Wildlife
- At the end of the traineeship, course members will have a good understanding of the skills required for a career in land based employment.
