Case Study - Stacy Clowes
Our Task Team programme is progressing nicely; one of our gardening projects at Pen-Y-Lan in Connah's Quay aimed at people over the age of 25 has proven a real success and we interviewed one of its participants Stacey Clowes to get an insight into what the project means to her.
Name: Stacey Clowes
Age: 50
Tell us about yourself? "I developed Rheumatoid Arthritis, when I had my last job, I had to give up where I was working because of the cold temperature affecting my joints. I just couldn't get my head around why I couldn't do anything the next day after work, I'd experience severe swelling in my hands, feet, legs and shoulders. After being diagnosed with Rheumatoid Arthritis my doctor got me in touch with Vicky, my job coach and she suggested I volunteered with Groundwork North Wales which lead to me participating in the project in Pen-Y-Lan"
Why I joined TASK TEAM? "To get me out of the house before I went mad" "I was so used to working and I could not stand the boredom of unemployment"
What do you plan to get out of the project? "Improve my wellbeing, gain new skills and knowledge; and help others in the community"
Can you see any benefits from the project already? "Yes, more outgoing, feel better in myself"
